1998... twenty-one years ago... living with Chicago with Kirstin and cranking out albums by many varied projects... working at Cargo Records Distribution, I suddenly realizing I had access to international retail distribution and starting to release singles and CDs... we even made promotional videotapes for this single... a year later, Cargo went bankrupt and a lot of labels lost a lot of money... but, I am really glad I got a few releases out before I went into debt from it.
The Drekka side of the single contains an alternate version of "With faith in nothing" to the one that appears on the "Take Care to Fall" CD.
It also contains the 7" version of "Instrumental 3", which was recently included on the "No Tracks in the Snow" comp LP on Dais Records.
The FuscilLage side of the single contains the rarely heard KJoy penned original recording of "No one knows your dog's name", which Drekka would soon after cover.
I love this single. It epitomizes the fluidity of Day2 Alliance, with bands sharing members and even songs. I honestly don't remember a whole lot of the specifics from this period of time, but what I do remember is all full of beautiful memories of making a massive amount of music in a short period of time with some of my best friends, many of whom I continue to work with to this day.

FROM THE PRESS RELEASE:
The facts:
BlueSanct Musak is proud to announce the follow-up single to the pleasantly successful Drekka/Octal split single. The second in a series of splits coupling Drekka with some of their (his?) favorite bands...
This one is particularly exciting for us, as it is the first vinyl collaboration between BSM and its sister company, DAY2 Alliance, out of Portland, OR. Six tracks of gorgeous experimental folk from both sides of the USA...
The track listing:
Side A- Drekka (experimental folk and bliss-out space voyages...)
a new one entitled With faith in nothing (a self-proclaimed Pink Floyd 1967 rip-off, though I cant figure out what they mean) and a track from Hermitage One ep called Instrumental 3 (which has been described as being similar to Coils move orchestral stuff... I agree with that one)
Side B- FuscilLage (sort of the same as Drekka, but sort of different, too...)
FuscilLage are Chris and Kristen of the Stuffings... and they offer four tracks culled from their many cassettes on Day2. Hard to describe, they are sort of noisy folk, not unlike Drekka, but with female vocals and a sort of lazy ease that is very powerful.
The selling points:
Its LIMITED to 500 copies, on many different colors of vinyl.
DREKKA will be touring the Northeast and Iceland in the Fall.
Drekka's new cd feat. Kristen (of FuscilLage) on guest vocals.
BSM will be doing press and radio promotion, and press copies of this single will come with a promo videotape w/ films for some of the songs.
BSM will soon be releasing a live Low CD.
Some press on Drekka:
'The music is... well, it's very... hmm... I definitely hear some... at times, it's... wait a second... I hear footsteps...' - SOLO DRONE, spring96
'Drekka somehow has a really visual aspect, so it's easy to picture an atmosphere while letting yourself slide into his musical landscape.' - a-MAZE-zine, winter97
