Although this is the first full-length offering MARK TRECKA has put his name to, he is by no means a new artist. Trecka founded Pillars and Tongues in 2007, has toured and recorded with Dark Dark Dark since 2010, has collaborated with Drekka since 1998, and is an actively publishing writer and artist. Trecka’s baritone voice, rolling piano chords and overtones, handmade cassette loops, and field recordings are simultaneously ambient and dynamic, and have the sense of being a complete system.

into time and out of room.
I cannot see
any better than I feel
sidereal twist and arc.
Some action moves
I have never understood
slowly shapes the wet and dark
arching form away from me.

When they gather windwise
why have I counted outright and traced
each reply?
Signals ache to be read in the pines
as if they'd sway to evade any eye.
As they scatter, twilight gathers me
into dust and painted memory.
Desert bloom and flitting leatherwing
have no course nor pain for need of me.
And so I am released,
the wrestled to regard sky,
naked black, continuing
doesn't side with me
nor my enemy.
