This release was more of a gift to begin with. I had just returned from my first European tour, the 'Poor Minstrels of Song 2' tour w/ Drekka, The Iditarod, Ring, and Peter Scion.
We had a great time (most of us, at least) and towards the end of the tour we did two radio sessions in Netherlands and Belgium. Both of these sessions were *very* early in the morning, which can be heard in our voices and general delivery, I fear.
I had an amazing time recording the VPRO session, especially... my first time in Netherlands, Ring was coming down off mushrooms and jammed with me, Matt Everett improvised a gorgeous version of 'Possibilities' with me... and I met Wim from Morc for the very first time!
The next morning, we drove to Antwerp at the crack of dawn and played a session for Psyche van Het Folk. It was very clear to me from the get go that Gerald did not care for Drekka. I was too tired to care, really.
So, I came home from that wonderful trip to find that a good friend of ours, Angel Busque, had been diagnosed with lupus and was in the hospital.
I made this collection in an edition of six, for the sick Miss Angelica Busque, because she was sick sick sick.
Originally, this release also included several tracks by The Iditarod. But, upon searching for the tracks for this digital re-issue, I could not find their tracks and the CDR copy I had in my archive will not play any longer.
I am glad Peter Scion's rendition survives though... a fun last day of tour document of a bunch of tired minstrels having a blast.
I hope you enjoy.
